Jan Hodgson lives on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland. The casual lifestyle of living by the beach inspires her artistic creativity and nurtures her love of nature.

She never tires of admiring the simple but sometimes extremely complex beauty of nature’s gifts. She enjoys the challenge of bringing this beauty to others in her colourful florals and still life paintings. She also loves to capture that quirky look or docile expression in her most striking animal paintings.

Her attention to detail and her eye for colour help to execute her work with an almost photographic finish. It is also the bold and bright nature of Jan’s paintings that make them so popular. They cater to both the domestic and corporate market.

Jan paints exclusively in pastel. Pastels are a very permanent medium and all paintings are accomplished with only top quality archival artists materials and papers.

Her work is exhibited in Brisbane and on the Sunshine Coast. She has been involved in a number of group exhibitions. Jan also exhibits in art shows in Brisbane and regional centres in South East Queensland where she has made many sales and achieved numerous awards.
